5 Miners Killed By Landslide, Buried In Barkin Ladi, Plateau By Yakubu Busari, Jos

Majehota Community In Barkin Ladi Local Government area of plateau state  has buried the five miners who were trapped inside mining tunnel on Tuesday the 5th May,2015 in their home town .

The Landslide victims who were trapped and killed five in   Majehota village of Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau state thrown the entire community into mourning.

Elder son of deceased  Mr Ronald David who father died inside the mining pond disclosed that, the incident occurred  on Wednesday when the  late  Baba Bisman David who has abandoned mining activities for years took a  stroll to a mining field on arrival saw the sign of sliding on the mining field  and  he rush down  the  falling tunnel  to past information that the ground is going down.

However, Baba rushed inside the tunnel shouting to those inside to come  out as the ground is about falling suddenly he was trapped to death "

Our reporter gathered that the victim who met his Waterloo   while trying to save the lives of kindmen inside the   tunnel suddenly become the sacrificial lamb when the hip of sand landed on him and he died.

The elder son, Ronald confirmed that four other victims were rescued with degrees

Of injuries with one other person who broken his arm and were taking to the hospital.

Plateau state has been the home of mineral resources which attention has not been giving to. And has drawn the likes of these victims who venture in to local mining for a livelihood in the state.
